Disability Rights Ohio speaks to Channel 4 News about state's expected seclusion, restraint policy

The Ohio Department of Education subcommittee crafting the policy and rule regarding the use of seclusion and restraint on students in Ohio's schools met yesterday to make some final changes, and Disability Rights Ohio was in attendance. The committee expressed concern that community schools, also known as charter schools, will not be required to follow the policy. While Disability Rights Ohio believes that seclusion and restraint should not be used in schools at all, Sue Tobin, chief legal counsel, spoke to Channel 4 News in Columbus about the importance of the changes as they currently stand.
