Ohio House Bill 303 - Service Animals

To prohibit places of public accommodation from preventing the use of a service animal.

SUMMARY:

  • Allows only a dog or miniature horse to be used as a service animal rather than any animal
  • Removes Ohio Civil Rights Commission rules governing service animals and prohibits the commission from adopting or enforcing rules governing service or assistance animals
  • Prohibts a person from falsely claiming an animal is a service animal
