Your gift on #GivingTuesday will help people like Sadie and Marcus
November 27, 2018 by Disability Rights Ohio / fundraising
Today's blog has a special focus on #GivingTuesday. Because of people like you, Disability Rights Ohio is able to advocate for the human, civil and legal rights of those we serve. Now is the perfect time of year to reflect and harness the power of giving to create change.
Your gift on #GivingTuesday will help people like Sadie.
Sadie lost her wheelchair after she fell down an embankment and the police mistakenly impounded it when she went to the hospital. She reached out to Disability Rights Ohio for help in getting it back. DRO's advocate called the chief of police and explained that Sadie's wheelchair was essentially part of her body. Her wheelchair was returned to her with minimal barriers.
Your gift on #GivingTuesday will help students like Marcus.
Marcus and his family moved to a new school district and his mother had difficulty enrolling him in his new school. After contacting Disability Rights Ohio, we were able to work with the school to get him caught up and back in class, ready to learn again.
Your support on #GivingTuesday will enable DRO to continue to provide much-needed services to individuals with disabilities - like Sadie and Marcus - who need someone in their corner.
A gift of $25, $50, $100 or any amount helps us take on such cases at no cost to clients. Together, we change lives of Ohioans with disabilities every day. Please begin your holiday season with a gift so that the call that comes in tomorrow can be met with action, advocacy, and victory.
#GivingTuesday is a global day of giving that harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities and organizations to encourage philanthropy and to celebrate generosity worldwide.
