Action Alert: Senate Votes to Proceed with Unknown Health Care Bill

July 25, 2017 / Medicaid

Today the U.S. Senate voted to proceed with debate on a health care bill. However, no one knows what version of the health care bill they're planning to vote on in the coming days. It could be the House bill, which would leave at least 24 million people without health care coverage, end Medicaid expansion and cut Medicaid by $800 billion. It could be a full repeal of the Affordable Care Act, which would send our country back to a time when people with pre-existing conditions could be denied care and low-income citizens couldn't qualify for Medicaid. The only thing we do know is each of these proposals will hurt Ohioans, particularly Ohioans with disabilities.

This fight has been long, but we need to keep going. And we need your help.

Call Senator Portman every day. Tell him to vote NO on any bill that would strip away health care. Watch our Facebook page for updates on the bill.
