#AdvocacyMatters: Building Bridges
January 13, 2023 / #AdvocacyMatters
Throughout the year, some of our most impactful events are the ones that further connect the Ohio disability community with their legislators. These opportunities are pivotal in ensuring people with disabilities are engaged and heard when and where decisions are being made. In this spirit The Ohio Olmstead Task Force (OOTF), one of our major grassroots partners, will be hosting a Legislative Reception on January 25th from 12-2 PM at the Atrium at the Ohio Statehouse, and we are so excited to share this opportunity with our network.
The Legislative Reception will be a casual gathering of the disability advocacy community and policymakers and will further forge connections for all who deserve a seat at the table. The goal of this time is to strengthen the bond between constituents and those who represent them.
To attend, you just need to register here (https://bit.ly/OOTFreception), and join in on that day. A light lunch will be provided, and you do not need to be an OOTF member to participate. If you’re worried about your journey to the Statehouse, you can check out our Accessible Guide to the Statehouse to know the address, where to park, and the most accessible ways to navigate to the Atrium safely for the reception.
As we embark on new adventures and new advocacy in this new year, we must remember just how much our #AdvocacyMatters, and that advocates’ voices deserve to be heard.
