#AdvocacyMatters: New Vision, Familiar Face
April 7, 2023 / #AdvocacyMatters
While our work is informed and shaped though surveys and input from the communities we serve, it only comes about through the expertise and investment of our team. Each DRO team member brings with them the experience and passion necessary to realize our mission and effect real change in our communities.
Earlier this week, we announced that Suzanne Musleh will serve as DRO’s next Legal Advocacy Director. While this position is new to her, she is a familiar face within the organization. She previously served as the team leader for our Civil Rights and Integration team overseeing both direct client work and systemic advocacy, especially in areas of intersectionality.
“Having personally directed client and systemic advocacy work for some of DRO’s goals and objectives, I am deeply invested in seeing these aspirations come to fruition and thrilled to be steering the organization’s advocacy work to achieve broad-reaching, impactful outcomes for Ohioans with disabilities,” Suzanne said. “It is DRO’s mission and values, along with the opportunity to once again collaborate with passionate employees who devote every day to making a positive impact on the lives of people with disabilities, that made me want to return to this incredible organization.”
In her new role, Suzanne will provide leadership and strategic direction for all DRO’s advocacy work, including coordinating complex litigation, serving as lead counsel on significant impact legal actions, and supervising attorney team leaders. In addition, Musleh will assist Kerstin Sjoberg, DRO Executive Director, in establishing, defining and implementing DRO’s goals and objectives.
While her face might be quite familiar on our team, her fresh perspective and wealth of experience will surely help to refine our work, advance our mission, and expand our reach. #AdvocacyMatters
