#AdvocacyMatters: More to be thankful for
November 18, 2022 / #AdvocacyMatters
With the giving season in full swing, we’re proud of all that we’ve accomplished this year. At DRO, we are so grateful for the work we get to do along with our community. Our commitment to building an equitable Ohio for people with disabilities continues, and will never waiver. We are so grateful for you- our allies and supporters. We couldn’t do this without you. Thank you.
Thank you for your trust in us. In all 88 counties, disabled Ohioans called out to DRO for help, guidance, advice and support. In all 88 counties, we listened. We learned. We pivoted with the needs of our community. The disabled community in Ohio has stood strong throughout many challenges this year - a provider workforce crisis, legislation that goes against disabled human rights, and even just the ableism of every day interactions. Here at DRO we will always be directed by disabled Ohioans.
Thank you for your guidance. Throughout the year we listened to the voices of our community to frame our goals and objectives, in order to best support as many people as possible. We take pride in the guidance given to us from you – our Ohio community. We share YOUR stories. Without your collaboration, we would struggle at identifying what disabled Ohioans need.
Thank you for your advocacy. From sharing our pieces on your social networks, or to even showing up in support at our Statehouse, your advocacy has shaped our abilities this year. We stand alongside you – hand in hand – to take every step as one forward, never back.
And most of all - thank you for your support... You’ve been there for us throughout the year, and now we’re asking for you to invest in our mission, our vision, and our work. While our federal grants cover specific roles and responsibilities, it’s investments from individuals and organizations like you that help us expand our reach and grow our work. We hope that as you continue the season of giving you can share our message – helping to give disabled Ohioans more to be thankful for. Your gift at disabilityrightsohio.org/ourstate will give us all more reasons to be thankful for this year. #AdvocacyMatters
