#AdvocacyMatters: Another Chance to be Heard
February 9, 2024 / #AdvocacyMatters
Civic engagement is a critical component to achieving an equitable society. Rooted in the belief of “nothing about us without us,” the voices and lived experiences of those with disabilities should be front and center as decisions are being made. One of the simplest ways to achieve this goal is through participation in elections.
Ohio’s March primary election is coming up soon, and the path to a successful voting experience starts now! Throughout this election cycle, we will be providing tools and resources to help you #PlanYourVote. We’ll keep you up to date about opportunities to vote early in person, to vote absentee by mail, and to vote in person on Election Day. We’ll also cover information on accessible voting and how to vote in special circumstances, like an unexpected hospitalization.
To participate in the election on March 19th, you have until Tuesday, February 20th to register. Even if you’re already registered to vote, it’s a good idea to check your registration to make sure it’s correct and up to date. If you need to register to vote, you can learn more and register here (https://olvr.ohiosos.gov/). You can also check your registration here (https://voterlookup.ohiosos.gov/voterlookup.aspx).
All the way through election day, we’re here to help you #PlanYourVote. You can view our election resources 24/7 at disabilityrightsohio.org/vote.
