#AdvocacyMatters: Comedy for a Cause
April 5, 2024 / #AdvocacyMatters
Connecting with communities and engaging with supporters is pivotal to expanding our reach and realizing our vision all across Ohio. Over the past few years we’ve enjoyed hosting and supporting events in diverse and underserved areas of the state. From information and listening sessions with targeted populations in Cleveland and Toledo to a job fair and duck races along the mighty Muskingum River, we’ve worked to broaden our network and expand the types of work we’re able to do.
In the summer of 2022 we hosted our first-ever comedy show fundraiser, “Don’t Call It Standup.” Hosted by renowned comedian and DRO board member Matt O’Nesti, this inclusive and representative event brought a slate of comedians with their own lived experiences together for one unforgettable performance in downtown Columbus.
Earlier this week we shared the details of our upcoming, second edition of “Don’t Call It Standup,” and we hope you’ll help us spread the word. Again hosted by Matt O’Nesti, this event will take place in northeast Ohio at Columbiana’s Funny Farm at The Tavern on the Links.
Irreverent and uncouth, Don’t Call It Standup is intended for audiences 21 and older.
You can learn more about the event and purchase tickets at disabilityrightsohio.org/comedyshow.
We hope you and your friends will join us for this great night of comedy, just don’t call it standup.
