May 19, 2023 / #AdvocacyMatters
Change never happens without people brave enough to act, and here at Disability Rights Ohio, we are committed to empowering people to make a difference. We have three exciting positions open for passionate, driven people who want to take a step in the direction of a fulfilling vision.
DRO is proud to offer a strong package of benefits, some of which include:
- A 35-hour work week.
- Paid time off; holidays and birthdays.
- Hours that are remote and flexible.
- Security in knowing you’re making a difference!
The Community Engagement Coordinator would empower people with disabilities to advocate for themselves and others through community organizing and outreach. The coordinator should have personal experience with disability services as they will have to navigate numerous government bodies and corporate councils to help strengthen DRO’s mission of advocating for an equitable Ohio for people with disabilities.
The Civil Rights & Integration Attorney position will be responsible for direct communication with DRO clients and committing themselves to legal research. The Attorney will legally represent clients, interact constructively with the community, and influence policy as it relates to people with disabilities.
The Special Education Fellowship is a one-year paid opportunity that may be extended at its conclusion. The Fellow would provide legal advocacy to students with disabilities in the central Ohio area who are eligible for the Individualized Education Program.
